A quick warning for those of you trading on OKCoin.cn (Chinese, not international version OKCoin.com)

The Chinese OKCoin as of Saturday only supports mainland China, if you are not in mainland China and have been using this exchange to avoid trading fees, I highly recommend you withdraw now if you can.

I woke up on Friday to a phone call from OKCoin telling me withdrawals had been frozen on my account and I'd need to verify my details (passport, residence info etc).

When I logged in, I was greeted with this banner, and quite right, I was unable to withdraw. Deposits have also been disabled.

So I go to verify my account using their form, but I entered my month and date of birth the wrong way round, whoops.

On Saturday, after asking support to let me update and fix this, I try filling in the form again and I can't. Apparently my country is not supported, nor is any country really.

Eventually, after several long phone calls and emails to support they decided they would unlock my account to let me withdraw, then freeze it forever.

I haven't seen anyone reporting on this so I thought I'd let you all know, if you want to use OKCoin then use the international version.
