Hi, as an end-user who does the majority of transactions off-chain, I was wondering how others similar to my situation feel about fees.
Personally, I don't mind them. I understand they are necessary to incentivize the miners to secure the network, and that's all fine. When I pay them, to make an on-chain transaction happen, I do notice it, but there's nothing I can do.
I wish fees were lower, because they seem to be a little high now, especially with the price of BTC increasing. BTC increase makes the fee bigger in real terms, say a .002 fee last year is now double in real money terms today.
These fees do add up, and I definitely don't want them to go higher.
That being said, security of the network and its store of value is always priority one. The protocol was set up in a very intelligent way, and any major changes could be disastrous.
Not really sure if I have a point here, because at the end of the day to transact 0.5 effortlessly is clearly worth the .002 or whatever fee gets charged. It'd sure be nice if there weren't any fees though, I remember when they were unnoticeable because BTC price was so much lower
