Mempool is down to <12sats/byte, but yet there are still services/wallet paying 100-1000 sats byte, what gives?

i understand that when you are moving large amounts of money youll gladly pay a high fee to get in the very next block, but paying such a huge fee really doesnt make sense to me when using a 50-100sat fee pretty much already gurantees youll get in the next block right now.

looking at these graphs it seems like the 10sat fee txs are getting eaten into, which would mean that if you pay more then 10sats, your pretty much guranteed to get into the next block… if you really want to be sure you can overpay by a lot, lets say 100sats, but why the hell would you ever pay 500sats? the 100sats transactions already all clear fully within 1 block

does anyone have any insight as to where these dumbass transactions are coming from? is it just wallets that still have a really really bad estimator? is it services that have set the fee static and havent adjusted it in a while?

blocks are getting mined right now that contain both <10sat/byte AND >800sat/byte transactions at the same time…
